Food for Thought:
Have you had challenging students?
After learning about the emotional brain, the fight/flight/freeze concept, and how the amygdala works, how would you change your teaching? How would you change the way you relate to your students?
What in your class would you keep the same as you've realized you've been dealing appropriately with students' emotional brain?
TASK 1: Done!
TASK 2: I'm sure it's good stuff because I have heard Denise speak about that in person. But, the sound quality of the "youtube" file is bad. It is better on the MP3 file, but still a little difficult to follow.
Hi everyone! Just a quick note to say I'll
be away till Saturday on a short holiday. Will have to concentrate on Week 2 when I'm back.
Can't wait! Sounds really interesting!
I was taught by my "American" parents that, learning should be fun. I have always tried to follow their advice to my own life and exercise it to my teaching. Drawing an enjoyable environment and encourage students to think tha way too. I think that, it is all about Amygdala (task 2 and 3). Love learning myself.
WOW guys! I have just started reading the material for week 2 and I have to thank you all for sharing all these great posts, comments and files here! My brain loves week 2.
I have not researched yet, but I`d like to say that I feel rewarded for having neuroscience backing many of the choices we teachers make when we cater for students` motivation in our classes. Denise! I loved your video! Wonderful, useful resource for teachers. Thanks!

I found Denise's audio file much easier to listen to than the youtube one. Start with that, although then you miss the diagrams that go with it.

The video audio in task 2 is now OK. We have removed the extra audio file as it is no longer necessary. Thanks!

I believe that, awareness of who you are, what you want to yourself, and setting goals to your life is a good lesson to be learned from the listening.

Thanks, Denise. The video sounds great now!
I ran into something really interesting and fun to "train" your brain. I posted on my blog.

Hi everyone,
I chose to know more about emotion and learning. I downloaded Zull's book and read chapter 4 to extend my knowledge and share my experiences.
Here is the link to my week 2 reflections http://azharreflections.blogspot.com/2013/01/neurosci-do-you-have-tonys-in-your.html
All the bet!
